New Brunswick, March 2, 2016 – New Brunswick’s local metal working companies announced today the organization’s new name and bilingual brand — SPARK “Powering New Brunswick’s Metal Working Companies / L’ÉTINCELLE QUI ANIME L’INDUSTRIE MÉTALLURGIQUE DU NOUVEAU-BRUNSWICK”.
“Our new name, SPARK, represents our energetic and active group of business leaders who are committed to igniting growth in our province,” said Joel Richardson, Executive Director of SPARK. “We are building upon on our robust advocacy efforts to support major projects and boost export sales for New Brunswick companies who design, build and supply custom machining and fabrication solutions to many sectors including aerospace & defense, agriculture, construction, energy, forestry and manufacturing.”
The new SPARK logo is CNC cut from a solid sheet of steel and features an orange maple leaf stylized as a welding spark to reflect New Brunswick’s position as a Canadian and global leader in metal working.
Formerly known as the Metal Working Association of New Brunswick, SPARK represents hundreds of local firms that are powering a key part of the provincial economy, generating over $1B per year in revenues and employing 6,000 people. SPARK is a division of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), the country’s largest industry association.
